Hola Chicos attached is the information you will need to get extra credit for this new marking period.  You can only pick 1 of the 2!!!

Extra Credit assignment #1:

Extra Credit – Hispanic festival

Designed for all Spanish classes!

1. Attend the festival for at least one to two hours.

2. Take pictures of yourself and friends doing the following:

1. watching a dancing or singing      show
2. talking to the singers or      dancers
3. talking to Hispanic people
4. eating some typical food (not      tacos or nachos), must be something different from what you would eat at      Don Pablos
5. looking at crafts, musical      instruments, clothing for sale
6. having fun!

3. Ask questions like:

1. What type of music is this?      From what country is it?
2. What type of dance is this?      From what country is it? Does it mean anything or have some significance?      Why are you wearing that dress / outfit? Is that outfit typical for this      type of dance or music?
3. What am I eating? From what      country is it? Is this typical? Do they eat it frequently or is it      “festival” food?
4. What types of crafts are these?      From which countries are the crafts?
5. What are these musical      instruments called? What type of music is played on them? In which      countries do they play these instruments?
6. Is this sweater / garment hand      made? Where was it made? What type of material is it?

1. 4. When you develop your pictures, you must create a scrapbook of what you saw, did and learned. Under each picture you must write a caption describing what is going on and what you learned. Please feel free to give me your opinions.

Extra Credit Assignment #2

For more grammar practice I have chosen to give you extra credit online! If you don’t have a computer at home, you can use one of the school’s computers!

First you must go to www.studyspanish.com

Then, click on register for free membership.

Follow the directions and when it asks for your teacher’s ID type in 4Z93EHXG. This is my registration number. You must be sure to put in this number as it will allow me to see the progress you have made, the scores on your tests and the number of tests completed.

I will give you extra credit based on the both the number of tests you complete and how well you do on them. You must have an 80% TO GET CREDIT! You can do the tests over and over again until you get a good score. Submit only the desired test.

Your assignments are:

1. Unit six – 63, 65, 68, 70, 71, 72 (all of these      chapters are to practice the preterite). These are very useful and will help you with your understanding      of this tense in Spanish.
2. Unit six – 62, 64, 66, 67, 69, 73 (all of these chapters are to practice the preterite versus the imperfect) These are very useful and      will help you with your understanding of these two past tenses in Spanish.

You may choose any acitivty, quiz, or test you wish. However, only tests and quizzes show up in my virtual grade book. As soon as your name appears in my virtual grade book, I’ll be able to see your progress!
